Prayer Pals

What would happen if we provided each child at Stony Hills Church with a mentor/prayer partner to support him/her from age 4 on? Do you think it would make a difference in the lives of those children? We believe such a commitment of adults to the spiritual wholeness of children is vital. The power of prayer is a gift that God has given to each one of us as is the invitation God has given us to actively take part in the spiritual growth of our children.

The Adult Pal Mentoring Ministry pairs Stony Hills’ adults and children or youth together to help them experience God’s incredible love and blessings through the actions and prayers of their Adult Pal as led by the Holy Spirit. An Adult Pal is someone personally committed to growing deeper in Christ and who is: Willing to nurture their pals Christian growth; desires to shepherd their pal towards making the most important decision of their life: accepting Christ as Lord and personal Savior; and will take an interest in their pal by getting to know him/her.

Some of the simple ways an Adult Pal may care: remember the child/youth on his/her birthday; send the child/youth a card on Christmas and other holidays; listen, encourage, seek out and warmly welcome the child at church; talk to the child about what he/she learned in Sunday school or at youth club; and PRAY, PRAY and PRAY for that child/youth!

Any member or regular attendee of Stony Hills Church can become an Adult Pal of a child or youth. We desire all of our children and youth to have Adult Pals – someone along with the child’s parent(s) who has a deep desire to care and pray. This ministry is simple to do but important. We strongly believe that this ministry will be a win-win situation for both the Adult Pal and the child/youth, as well as for the church as a whole.
