Stony Hills Presbyterian
Love Grow Serve
Who We Are

Stony Hills, a congregation of the Presbyterian Church USA, was founded by a core of faithful people to meet the need for a new church in southern Washington and northern Waukesha counties. In the fall of 1984 this core began to meet together, established as mission project of the Presbytery of Milwaukee. Stony Hills Presbyterian Church was chartered as a congregation on February 7, 1988. In August of 1994 we moved into our beautiful new building. We have grown from a small core of worshiping Christians into the vital congregation we are today. A commitment to Christ-centered worship, biblical faithfulness, spiritual growth, and serving God in our community and world is what we believe God has called us to. Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month, and is open to all baptized Christians. Baptism is celebrated as a part of the worship service so the congregation shares the joy!

Love-

to experience, share and receive the fullness of Christ with one another, the greater community and the world

So that God’s glory is revealed.

We believe the story God longs to tell over, in, and through our lives is a grand love story; the story of our being loved by Love itself; and a story we’re invited to receive and share together.  We believe such love is especially an invitation to celebrate together in worshiping God and learning to care and support and challenge one  another in authentic relationships.

We believe God made us for worship.  He calls us together to join in a beautiful and glorifying celebration of His faithfulness to us in Jesus Christ.  We worship God as our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer, as  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  We worship in song and prayer, hearing the Word of God, and responding to the Word through the daily offering of our lives.  We use ancient and new ways—familiar traditions and creative   expressions.  We also share in the sacraments of Communion and Baptism together.

Grow —

to increase in knowledge and love of God through the study of Gods Word and the fellowship of the church so that lives are transformed to be disciples of Christ.

We believe God has called the church to grow together spiritually.  We desire to be a church that seeks Biblical understanding towards living in this world with both truth and grace. There is a place for you here to grow deeper through relationships and in classes, seminars, small groups, and serving opportunities.
We’re also trying to create ways to meet spiritual, emotional and intellectual needs so that, together, we can deepen
one another’s relationships with Jesus Christ.  We want to be a church that lives in faithful obedience to Scripture, with genuine lives to fulfill the Great Commission with the Great Commandments of loving God and loving others.

 Serve

living out our faith for our church, community and throughout the world so that God will be glorified as His heart, character and will are revealed over, in and through our lives.

We believe God has called each member of the church to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to all the world and make disciples of all nations!  We’re learning together to be a church that lives out the Gospel in our  everyday lives: in our homes, neighborhoods, schools, and work places.  We hope to do so in many places in our larger community, nation and world.  We don’t have volunteers at Stony Hills—we believe we’re all called to be ministers serving with the gifts God has given us.
